Hannah Van Wyk – Lawyer

Hannah commenced her career in family law in 2013 as a law clerk and the practice manager of a boutique family law firm in Brisbane’s inner-city suburb of Paddington. For several years she gained practical experience in the field and developed an understanding of the intricacies of parenting and property settlement matters, and a love of family law! She holds a Bachelor of Laws, alongside a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She has practiced exclusively in family law since 2018.

Always friendly and personable, Hannah is genuinely interested in people – some might say she is a ‘people person’. She is a driven family lawyer who is instinctively empathetic to understanding the desired outcomes, feelings and fears of her clients. She is dedicated to her clients, and focused on supporting her clients through the course of their matter with a positive attitude and approach.

Hannah continues to develop her legal and interpersonal skills by working closely with the firm’s Principal Solicitor and Senior Associate. She is committed to achieving positive outcomes for her clients and endeavours to reach a negotiated outcome at the earliest opportunity, with litigation being the last option.

In her time outside of the office, Hannah enjoys cheering on the Brisbane Broncos and the Brisbane Lions. She also enjoys a good G&T, relaxing at the beach and spending quality time with family and friends.

Hannah was admitted in the Supreme Court of Australia in August 2018, and was added to the Register of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia in July 2019. She is also a member of the Queensland Law Society (QLS) and the Family Law Practitioners Association (FLPA).
